Skills I've learned so far are how to use two point perspective in a drawing, such as in the triptych hallway drawing. I learned that all angles must be aligned with their corresponding point in order to create a three dimensional affect. In my line drawing assignment I learned that varying the darkness and thickness of the lines can be used to employ art elements such as motion and value. I also discovered that while creating different shapes of type font I conveyed different ideas. I learned in the apple watercolor assignment that mixing colors can create shades and light application of paint can create the illusion of tints in a painting. Art elements I learned about are shapes, space, color, and lines. I learned shapes can be an organic style or structured and more geometric. Varying shapes can bring an interesting contrast. Lines can be darker and bolder to bring attention to them and give the impression of an object being closer. Lines can also convey the flow and movement in a drawing. Lines can create a three dimensional shape when they are used in perspective. Color can be mixed in order to create shade and variation in a painting and opacity or transparency when varied in concentration. Creative ideas I've learned are to design things which reflect some aspect of my life or personality like the style of font I chose for my masthead design, which is ribbon-like, to reflect my femininity. Also, I used a dress form to reflect my interest in fashion. In the positive poster assignment I also was given inspiration by imagining what messages I think would be helpful and positive in my life. I think I was generally always on task except for times when I was misunderstanding the assignment. Although i work hard, I usually work slowly and it's hard for me to get assignments done.
