Dreamtime is composed of abstract shapes such as a wave-like shape in the center and funneled towers on either side composed of dots, and starburst shapes, which are created with the media of watercolor and paper. Skills I used were symbolic and abstract thinking, detail oriented attention, and the use of q-tips to create dots and smooth purposeful lines. Main art elements I used were shape, color, space, and line. I used abstract shapes as a focus point for my work and created them with lines. I used space between these shapes to call attention to them individually as well as their presentation together, and to convey the idea they represent. I used color to show transition in thoughts or emotions I was trying to convey. The skills and art elements were used to create the idea of a first kiss. The two funnels created from green dots are compacted in the center and then trail off with greater spaces between them to imply the feeling of tension and nerves in the two people. The wave which takes up the center lower half uses a variety of colors and layers of detail to show the stages of the kiss: the dripping black and bright red are the fear and attraction, the soft blue is the calm of the kiss and the shared moment, and the darker vines of blue are the blissful moments after the kiss. The starburst shapes which are made of a bright pattern of dots are intended to symbolize the other emotions shared between the two people which open up at each moment: yellow is the happiness, pink and purple are the love.
