The self-sketch portrait is a sketch that I made with myself being the motif, and I used pencils on paper as my media. One new skill I learned was to use line and shading to show contours and depict a realistic image of myself. Lines, value, and form are the art elements I used. I used lines to compose the curves in my face and light and dark values to show depth and the form of my face. The combination of the skills and art elements express the idea of realism and replicating life as we see it.
